Chronic Pain Recovery Support
About Us
“Ray of Hope Chronic Pain Recovery Support
was created following my own
recovery from debilitating chronic pain.”
While I was driving to work durig a snowstorm, a highway accident occurred, causing painful injuries. The accident triggered the onset of fibromyalgia, chronic lower back pain, bursitis, and nerve pain, in addition to amplifying migraine headache pain. My quality of life deteriorated as my level of chronic pain increased, and multiple autoimmune conditions were diagnosed. When prescribed medications could not treat my chronic pain sufficiently, l had no alternative but to resign from my 25-year career as a Registered Nurse. Due to the unrelenting, excruciating chronic pain, I required a walker, and then a wheelchair as I became bedridden. For years, I lived in my bed with a TV as my companion.
My physician was kind, compassionate, and supportive when he made house calls. Despite the excellence of his medical care, my health continued to deteriorate as more diagnoses, and more prescribed medications followed. Regardless of the medications my doctor prescribed, I continued to suffer. After more than a decade of experiencing agonizing misery, I experienced an epiphany. If I wanted to recover, I would need to reverse engineer my own health trajectory to identify the root cause puzzle pieces which could yield hope for my healing.

“I realized that my body had been designed to heal.”
During my 25-years in practice as a Registered Nurse, I gained valuable experiences in a variety of health care settings which included hospitals, and a physician’s office. For 12 concurrent years, I developed and taught 17 innovative health programs as a Nurse Educator and Patient Education Coordinator within my independent nursing practice. Physicians and Public Health Departments provided referrals to the programs I’d created. In addition, I conducted medical research, and taught critical thinking, ethics, health care models, and research to prospective RN students at the college level.
My academic pursuits included in-depth studies in clinical nutrition, anatomy, physiology, research, pharmacology, infectious diseases, advanced adult health assessment, among others. To further expand my knowledge base, and identify the specific changes my body required to begin healing, I committed 7-years to self-directed continuing education, dedicating 10-30 hours of each week to reading published peer reviewed journal research, attending online conferences, and webinars while actively seeking the most current knowledge from the brightest healing minds which included physicians, functional medicine specialists, osteopaths, naturopaths, chiropractors, pharmacists, nutritionists, gut microbiome experts, fitness instructors, sleep experts, and researchers. This exploration helped me to identify the root cause puzzle pieces which had created my body’s descent into chronic pain, diseases, and disability, and led to the development of the Foundational Building Blocks of Health which I integrated successfully within my own life. Gentle, consistent, nutrition, health, and lifestyle changes encouraged healing, and my level of chronic pain began to decrease.
Gentle chiropractic adjustments restored my spinal alignment, and just two months after implementing the Foundational Building Blocks of Health within my own life, I was able to walk to the end of my street. Within a year, I experienced a dramatic reduction in my inflammation and chronic pain levels, ultimately achieveing a medication free life. I am thrilled to share that I no longer experience symptoms of fibromyalgia, lower back pain, hip bursitis, or migraine headaches. The excess weight I’d accumulated while bedridden was lost without the need for restrictive dieting. My elevated blood pressure and heart rate returned to normal. Neuropathy in my right hand healed, and full sensation returned. This transformative journey has not only changed my life, but has ignited a passion within me to empower others. I would be honoured to share my extensive knowledge with you, offering hope, and supportive, compassionate encouragement as you navigate your own healing journey through Ray of Hope’s Foundational Building Blocks of Health.
